What smart glasses can do for you
Smart glasses live captions
Caption apps turn speech into subtitles on your lenses, so deaf and hard-of-hearing people can follow a conversation while looking at the speaker.
7 appsSmart glasses translation
Translation apps listen to someone speaking another language and show the translation on your lenses, or read it into your ear.
8 appsSmart glasses teleprompter
A teleprompter on your glasses scrolls your script in your view, so you can give a talk or record a video while keeping eye contact.
5 appsPreview an app through the lens before you install it
Store screenshots are flat. Glass Mode shows the app inside a simulated lens: how wide the display is, whether you see it with one eye or both, and whether it moves with your head or stays fixed in the room.
Pick the device
Lens shape and field of view change per device. A monocular HUD shows a small panel in one eye, and a headset shows a full window.
Look around
Move your mouse or tilt your phone. Head-locked HUDs follow your view, and world-locked ones stay pinned in the room.
Use your camera
Turn on the camera to put the HUD over your real surroundings. Nothing is recorded or uploaded.

Smart glasses apps: frequently asked questions
Is there an app store for smart glasses?+–
It depends on the glasses. Apple Vision Pro and Android XR have full app stores. Ray-Ban Meta, Even Realities G1 and XREAL use a phone app instead, and Vuzix has its own store for business apps. GlassesApps lists apps for all of them in one place.
What can you do with smart glasses?+–
Listen to music, take calls and send messages by voice, get turn-by-turn directions, read live captions or translations, use a teleprompter, watch videos on a large virtual screen, and play hand-tracked games. What works depends on whether your glasses have a display.
What is the difference between AR glasses apps and AI glasses apps?+–
AI glasses such as Ray-Ban Meta have a camera and speakers but no display, so their apps work by voice. AR glasses such as XREAL, Even Realities and Vision Pro have a display, so their apps show text, windows or 3D objects in your view.
Which smart glasses work with iPhone?+–
Ray-Ban Meta and Even Realities G1 work with iPhone through their companion apps. XREAL and Rokid glasses connect to USB-C iPhones (15 and newer) as a display. Apple Vision Pro is Apple's own headset.
Can you install apps on Ray-Ban Meta glasses?+–
Not like a phone. Ray-Ban Meta glasses have no app store on the glasses. Apps connect through the Meta AI companion app on your phone, and they work by voice and audio.
Do XREAL glasses run Android apps?+–
XREAL glasses work as a display for a phone, PC or console. Phone apps appear on the glasses when you mirror your screen or use XREAL's own software. Spatial (6DoF) features depend on the model and on app support.
What does Glass Mode on GlassesApps show?+–
Glass Mode is a browser simulation of how an app looks through a given pair of glasses: lens shape, field of view, one eye or both, and head-locked or world-locked. It is a preview, not the real device output.
About smart glasses apps
Smart glasses apps work very differently from phone apps. AI glasses such as Ray-Ban Meta have no display, so apps like Spotify and WhatsApp connect through the Meta AI app and work by voice. AR glasses such as XREAL and Rokid act as a screen for your phone or laptop, while Even Realities G1 shows short text like captions, directions and a teleprompter.
Headsets have full app stores: Apple Vision Pro apps come from the visionOS App Store and Android XR apps from Google Play. GlassesApps checks every listing against the app store, the glasses maker or the developer's own documentation, and shows the date it was last confirmed.
