About this app
ARScribe puts live subtitles on AR glasses using an iPhone or iPad. Transcription and translation both run on-device, so conversations never leave the phone, and subtitle position, text scale and language are adjustable. It was built at Jewel City Hacks in Los Angeles, where it won Best Overall Hack and Best Hardware Hack. Tested on XREAL glasses and compatible with any AR glasses that connect to an iPhone or iPad; it needs iOS 26 or later and is distributed as source, not on the App Store.
